Unaffiliated Dressage Competitions
Welcome....this page gives you all you need to know about the Unaffiliated Competitions organised by C.E.D.G. All riders who are wishing to give dressage "a go" are welcome as are the more seasoned competitors. The team wish you good luck.
If you have looked through this page and have found you still have questions to ask or are unsure of anything please call Joanne on 07851599571.
All competitions are held at Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, Leeds, LS11 5TZ

The Centre
Middleton Park is one of the best show centres in West Yorkshire. The facilities at the centre are second to none. With two indoor arenas on well maintained sand surfaces, mirrors, hard standing parking area, and a viewing gallery to be proud of.
The show centre has heated score/office area - great in the winter! Three toilets, judges box, ground level viewing area with one way windows to not upset the horses performing the tests.
At all Unaffiliated Dressage Competitions the collecting ring has a steward, parking areas manned, helpful staff to answer all your problems or questions.
The Judges
All the Judges used by C.E.D.G are chosen from the British Dressage Panel of list and trainee judges.
The reason that the Group has chosen to do this is to provide a consistent and correct pattern for all competitors.
The BD Judging system is funded by the member themselves who which to improve there knowledge and skill of the sport. The Judges endure a rigorous training programme before they are "set free" for competitions. All the judges are required when they apply to become a trainee that they are riders to have ridden at affiliated level. It is always worth remembering that the judges appreciate when you are "having a bad day" and they are always encouraging and helpful where possible. Judges are human and there is nothing worse as a judge to hear yourself getting a slating!
We are encouraging dressage enthusiasts to write for the judge at competitions. This is a great way to get an insight as to what goes of at the other side of the arena boards. Anyone can write for the judge providing you have a small amount of dressage knowledge, it is also a good way of keeping your hand in if you are having a break from riding. Trainees & judges wishing to upgrade this is a great opportunity for you also. Please contact Joanne - if you have left your details and not heard from anyone get in touch again - your details may have gone astray!
Photographers
At some of C.E Dressage Group competitions Centre Line Photographers are in attendance.
Visit their site and look through the archive of pictures from the Dressage Competitions and the Lecture/Demonstration.

Did you know?
Did you know as unaffiliated riders you are able to compete at any affiliated competition. This is great if you have ever fancied having a go but didnt wish to go to the expence of registering your horse and yourself.
Along with the class ticket system where unregistered riders can ride at any level there are the Preliminary Open section where you can ride without the need to buy a class ticket.
Simple really !!!
Any more details please get in touch and Joanne will be happy to explain further.
Dont be put off - however dont feel pushed as the Unaffiliated competitions are well supported and of a good standard so success is great there too.
